The countdown has begun, Windows XP will no longer be sold as OEM or shrinkwrapped on June 30th.  White-box system builders can sell it through December 31st, but who even buys from those guys anymore? 

I don't know about you, but this is very upsetting to me.  I mean, it's not that they're ending the support of XP, but ending of support never comes long after a move like this.

I understand, I do..  they're trying to get all of their eggs into one basket.  But XP is a good egg, in a nice pretty basket, why mess with it?  Why take away the one operating system you have left that just works, that gets the least amount of complaints?

Who knows, maybe I would understand if I was a corporate bigwig.. but since I don't see that happening any time soon, I guess i'll never completely understand.

Who knows, maybe in June all of the Vista problems will just go away like magic, and it will start feeling more like XP.  Maybe drivers will magically start working and everything will just be smiles and rainbows.

Yeah.. and maybe gas prices will drop too.
