Every now and then, you might need to change your product key in Windows XP, especially if you’re like a lot of people and purchased a bogus volume license from a website without realizing it.
There are complicated ways of doing this, but I found a pretty nifty application that does the trick much easier called RockXP3 . It’s a simple app, doesn’t need to be installed, just have to download it and run it.
It can be used to view, and/or modify your Windows XP product key, and most other previous versions of Windows actually. It can even be used to view or modify other Microsoft products like various versions of Microsoft Office.
Be warned, some anti-spyware apps pick up this software as malicious, since it has the ability to change your product key, so keep that in mind. It doesn’t actually contain any kind of spyware. And naturally, please don’t use this for anything illegal. Lastly, be careful when using this tool, since you can’t download windows updates without a valid cd key.
