If you’re used to using Windows Explorer in XP to connect to your ftp to upload files, you can’t do it that way in Vista. Luckily though, there is an alternative to simply using an ftp client.
In Vista, ftp connections are supported as a Network Connection, and setting it up is extremely simple.
Click on the Start button, and click on Computer. Right click somewhere in the empty space and select Add a Network Location, and hit Next.

From here, click Choose a custom network location and hit Next.

Type in your FTP address, and hit Next.

If you’re using an anonymous connection, leave the checkbox checked, otherwise uncheck it and type in the username you want to use, and hit Next.

Give your connection a name if you want, and hit Finish.

Now you’ll see this connection in the Computer section. Pretty sweet..
